Remember last year when property developers started to cut prices, what those owners who previously bought the apartments did? Yes, they went to smash things at the sales office.
So developers in Hangzhou have to hire more security guards to fend off the “enemies”. According to a report via Sina, the demand of security guards are so high now that the hourly rate for a guard has risen to RMB35/hr. One developer apparently saw a bunch of existing owners protesting against price-cutting that they urgently hire 100 security guard to fend off the owners.
In order to avoid existing owners to go on war against the developers, they now have learned to sell the new flats rather more secretly. Now the location of sales offices are often not known until hours before the start of the sales. One even hire people to smash the sales office “so that there is nothing else for existing owners to smash”.
However weird or strange this sounds, price cutting works as far as sales is concerned.
