Republicans: Stop Saying No To Everything And Get Things Done27 July, 2011, 10:31. Posted by Zarathustra

I don’t hide my anger towards Republicans as I have never liked them from outside.
As I pointed out earlier, republicans should stop playing with fire on the debt ceiling. What at stake are more than the public finances of the United States, but the global economy. The behaviour of these clowns are appalling and totally irresponsible. Also considered the poor record as far as Republicans are concerned: they have been screwing this debt thing up again and again in history, and looks like they are just going to do it again.
Henry Blodget at Business Insider has an excellent demonstration of the dismal record of the Republicans as far as public finances are concerned. And as New York Times puts it, the large chunk of the new spending and reduction in revenue over the past 10 years came from, yes, George W. Bush, Republican: some US$1,812 billion of Bush tax cuts, wars, and among other things like TARP and stimulus. It is therefore absurd to see Republicans putting up a straight face when talking about public finances while they were actually the culprit.
Now republicans, especially the conservative republicans, can’t even get their acts together to agree on John Boehner’s plan. These bunch of clowns’ absolute inability to make any compromise is now not only threatening the public finances of the United States, but the global economy. As FT Lex puts it, at least some of these clowns genuinely believe that it is through crisis that the government will change how it runs itself. This is a dangerous game that put the global economy at risk, and nobody will be better off with that.
Republicans, shame on you.
