China’s industrial production grew by 9.5% yoy, while electricity output growth was flat

China’s industrial production growth for June fell slightly in June.

Industrial production increased by 9.5% in June from a year ago (real term), fell slightly from 9.6% growth in May, and below consensus of 9.8% yoy growth. On a month-on-month basis, industrial production increased by 0.76%, down from 0.89% in May.

The closely watched electricity output growth, which is regarded as a better gauge of China’s economic growth, is flat (i.e. 0.0% yoy growth) in June, down from 2.7% yoy in May, pointing to continued slowdown.
