Not only the high-speed rail in China is very faulty and money-losing, they now crash!
According to Pheonix TV, one high-speed rail train D301 from Beijing headed for Fuzhou followed another train D3115 from Hangzhou to Fuzhou. At 20:27 or so, as the trains were travelling near Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province, the train D3115 was hit by thunder, and subsequently lost power and stopped. But D301 did not, so it crashed into D3115, and two cars from D3115 as well as four cars from D301 derailed and have apparently fallen off the bridge.
11 16 35 deaths have been reported, and 210 have been been wounded according to Mingpao. Of the 35 deaths, 2 are foreigners.

Presumably because it is so embarrassing that they can’t even name that damn train as “high speed rail train”, but just, well, “train”.
